high speed wobble

Post by colonel_gentleman on Wed Dec 28, 2011 11:20 am

ok so anyone have any ideas on why I might be getting light wobble under heavy load (WOT or close to) then HEAVY wobble at almost exactly 70mph+?

I used to have it even going slow, but I got better LCAs with better balljoints and it fixed that. My TREs are blown, which I will be replacing here soon as I have the parts, just need to tap the hole upside down and mount them as such, like the Veewee kids as they are pushed up too high with the low low, but i dont think it will fix the wobble...would it? Maybe alignment?? but saab doesnt leave much for alignment...i need to make rear toe shims for sure lol

Any other ideas? I'm pretty sure the wheels/tires are round and balanced correctly...im just so annoyed as I cant really drive at highway speeds without feeling like my wheels are going to fall off.

adapters still torqued down good?
Wheels torqued good?

I feel that in the past Toe has caused alittle bit of a shimmy but not to the point its bothering....

i would look at alighment stuff.. toe specifically.. with more aggresive wheel and tire fitment it will make anything that was sorta there show up for sure.. when i put the hib spacers on my jelopy i put washers under both lower bolts.. this caused excessive toe in at the rear which made the car feel dangerous to drive..

also.. heavy load will transfer weight to the back which causes a change in toe.. + or - depending on design and static setting.. also.. the speed specific stuff i have found to be a harmonic type issue with toe..

just sayin..
